Though most Mini Cooper’s were best known for their British heritage there were a few examples produced in Italy called the Innocenti. This not so innocent 1973 example has been retrofitted with what could be confused as a ballistic missile. Powered by Fords latest 1.0 Ecoboost motor with a 5 speed manual transmission this Italian job is truly Super. Last year the Super Cooper From the Fastest Car TV show built by Gildred Racing was unveiled at the Quail Motorsports gathering. Vernon Adams saw the Super Cooper parked between Bugatti and McLaren and said “I gotta have one” and commissioned Gildred Racing to build him his dream Mini. It wasn’t enough just to drive like a bat out of hell, it had to be unique in every way. It was painted to match his NART Blue Ferrari, Nardi Italian Steering wheel, upholstered in vintage Italian leather and suede, and tastefully represents his love of baseball. Without a doubt this Super Cooper celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Mini with a home run!
